POP YOUNG RETURNS WITH NEW SINGLE “PATRICIA”

 


 

Malawian Afro-pop sensation Pop Young is making waves once again with his debut solo single, “Patricia”. The artist recently parted ways with his record label, Akometsi, under controversial circumstances. In a surprising move, Akometsi removed all of Pop Young’s top-charting songs from their YouTube channel following the separation.

“Patricia”, produced by Chawabeats, is an Afrobeat ballad where a man expresses affection to his fiancée, showcasing happiness and contentment. The 20-year-old star, affectionately known as “Popizo”, is confident that this piece will become a smash hit.

Catch the premiere of “Patricia” on MBC Radio 2’s “Made on Monday” show with celebrated presenter Joy Nathu next week. Fans can expect the signature fusion of Tumbuka, Chewa, and English that has defined Pop Young’s rise to stardom since 2022.
