POP YOUNG RETURNS WITH NEW SINGLE “PATRICIA”

    Malawian Afro-pop sensation Pop Young is making waves once again with his debut solo single, “Patricia”. The artist recently parted ways with his record label, Akometsi, under controversial circumstances. In a surprising move, Akometsi removed all of Pop Young’s top-charting songs from their YouTube channel following the separation. “Patricia”, produced by Chawabeats, is an Afrobeat ballad where a man expresses affection to his fiancée, showcasing happiness and contentment. The 20-year-old star, affectionately known as “Popizo”, is confident that this piece will become a smash hit. Catch the premiere of “Patricia” on MBC Radio 2’s “Made on Monday” show with celebrated presenter Joy Nathu next week. Fans can expect the signature fusion of Tumbuka, Chewa, and English that has defined Pop Young’s rise to stardom since 2022. THE LEGENDS ARE BACK

  After making waves a decade ago,  The Legends band is set for a bounce back with their latest performance scheduled for this afternoon at the Bingu International Convention Center (BICC). Comprising the talented trio of Bleek, Thoxy, and Thereza Cleo Chatata, this live-performing band is mostly known for their captivating cover songs at various events across Malawi. Their performance this afternoon will be during the 2024 Takulandirani Malawi International Tourism Expo after-party, which will be held at the BICC bush bar, as confirmed by the band. Just a few weeks ago, The Legends held a successful show dubbed The Genesis at the Grand Business Park in Lilongwe. These shows are part of their preparation for the upcoming Old School Fiesta, starting tomorrow, April 27th, at Khitchini Hub from 8 pm. Fans can grab their tickets for MK10,000 per head.
